Exhibitor Information for Fellows at CARVE

Program Overview

Fellows at CARVE, an innovative educational program designed specifically for vascular surgery, interventional radiology and cardiology fellows, and senior-level residents, promotes the spirit of cross-collaboration so important in clinical practice. Over the course of three days, February 12-14, 2024, fellows will gain a better understanding of the intertwined roles of these clinical specialties.

Fellows at CARVE is held in conjunction with the 16th Annual CARVE Conference, bringing all of the insights and interactivity of CARVE to fellows in training. Real-life cases and real-world data explore what matters most—optimal clinical care for patients with vascular disease.

The well-rounded program, designed specifically for fellows and residents, includes:

  • Compelling lectures, panel discussions, debates
  • Abundant networking opportunities
  • A hands-on, interactive technology showcase
  • ‘Cutting-edge Cases’ presented by fellows and residents
  • A mentor, selected based on your interests, to share their perspective
Who is the audience?

This is an invitation-only program for senior residents/fellows training in vascular surgery, interventional radiology, and interventional cardiology. A demographically diverse group of approximately 25 Fellows will be invited to participate in the program.

What is the program format?

This program features lectures supplemented with expert panel discussions, debates, and networking opportunities to allow interactive learning and an in-depth understanding of the program’s core concepts.

What is the technology showcase?

Exhibitors have the unique opportunity to present and demonstrate their innovations during a hands-on industry technology showcase with extensive one-on-one with Fellows. Fellows will be encouraged to interact with all exhibitors.

  • In a structured fashion, Fellows will rotate to each booth where they will have exposure to featured devices and technology.
  • Each rotation will last approximately 15 minutes.
  • Participating Fellows will be entered into a drawing to win one of several prizes.
What are the industry dinners?

As all attendees will come from different areas of training and specialties, we aim to provide exposure to technology and devices they may not have seen or heard of in the past. In addition to the technology exhibition, 2-3 Fellows will be paired up with an organization they may not have had much exposure to during their training thus far. Each participating industry organization will then be responsible for continuing conversation over dinner. CARVE representatives will help facilitate dinner reservations.

What is the case competition?

An anticipated highlight of the program is the “Cutting-edge Cases” competition. In addition to attending lectures and the technology exhibition, each Fellow must present a short case to qualify for lodging and travel reimbursement.

  • Each Fellow will be prepared with one case presentation where an unexpected complication or unusual solution occurred.
  • Fellows will have five minutes to present their case, followed by up to two minutes of questioning by a panel of judges.
  • After every Fellow has presented their case, the judges deliberate and will announce the top two case presentations.
  • Prizes will be awarded after the two finalists present their cases to the full CARVE audience.
  • All cases presented must be endovascular or hybrid (open surgical and endovascular) arterial or venous in nature.
  • Coronary or open surgical cases will be disqualified.
What is the mentorship program?

Following the success of the mentorship program in previous years, Fellows will participate in a unique experience to share candid conversations with a senior CARVE participant or faculty member. Fellows and mentors will be paired based on specialty, desired career paths, and mutual interests. Mentors and Fellows will be given time during a dinner reception to meet and socialize in a relaxed environment, focusing on job search, career pitfalls, networking, and making the leap from Fellow to Attending.
